When it comes to sourcing wild game, not all suppliers are created equal. We pride ourselves on our commitment to ethical and sustainable suppliers and harvesters who share our values and who go above and beyond to ensure that the animals they source are treated humanely and with respect. (You can find them here). I think we do this better than most, because we are able to tap into three different kinds of harvesting. They’re all based on same ethic – sustainable practice.
What makes our wild game stand out?
One of the most important factors that sets us apart is the sustainable practices used by our hunters and harvesting teams. In a world where farmed meats often rely on mass production and industrial-scale processing, our wild game is sourced directly from nature. That means animals roam freely and graze on natural vegetation. As there is no human intervention, we know there are no growth hormones or antibiotics, ensuring that the meat is all-natural and healthy. It’s organic by default, if you like.
All our wild game is hand harvested through private landowners in Australia, or hunted in native bushland in the high country areas. Many species of wild game, such as deer, kangaroo and wild boar, cause significant damage to crops and natural habitats, leading to a loss of biodiversity and financial losses for farmers. Unlike aerial culling, our harvesters use ethical and humane methods of hunting to ensure that the animals are dispatched quickly and painlessly, while aerial culling results in leaving carcasses to decay, which attracts other pests like pigs, foxes, and wild dogs, making the problem worse. Moreover, it can be cruel and cause unnecessary suffering to animals.
We are able to support a service that benefits both the landowners and the wider ecosystem which, in turn, provides a more responsible and sustainable solution to the pestilence problem.

And, by harvesting wild game from private landowners, we are able to ensure that the meat is of the highest quality possible, because the animals live and graze in their natural habitats, which contributes to their overall health and wellbeing.
Nutritional Benefits
Wwild game is also a superior choice for its nutritional benefits. Game meat is rich in protein, iron, and other essential nutrients that are necessary for a healthy diet. In addition, it contains a higher concentration of omega-3 fatty acids than traditional meats. Omega-3 fatty acids are important for maintaining heart health and reducing inflammation in the body. They’re also essential for brain health and can help improve our cognitive function.
Unbeatable Flavour
Finally, there’s the unbeatable flavour that comes from properly sourced and prepared meat. The flavour profile can vary depending on the type of animal and how it’s been prepared, but generally, game meat has a rich, earthy taste that’s both savoury and satisfying.

Mixed boxes give you a chance to try a little bit of a lot of things. There’s large pick-your-own cuts or small sample cartons to suit your family size and budget, and they’re a great way to dip your toe in the water.
Here’s a guide for cooking roasted venison backstrap with coffee and proscuitto; and if you’re game (ha!) enough to order a whole fresh carcass, here’s a guide to help you break it down for the freezer.
Our commitment to sustainable practices, ethical and humane hunting methods, and sourcing directly from private landowners ensures that our wild game is of the highest quality, nutritional value, and flavour. That’s the difference.
