To properly store half a cow, or a whole sheep, or goat etc, in your freezer, you’ll need a significant amount of space.
How big is that?
Hint: a 48 litre esky can take 20kg of goods for transport and cold storage.
Carton of Chicken (Whole or portions)
13-18kg will need 25 litres of freezer space
Whole Cow (every cut from the cow)
Approximately 120kg will need 300 litres of freezer space
Half A Cow (One Side of The Cow )
Approximately 60kg – will need 180 litres of freezer space
Quarter Cow
Approximately 30kg – will need 80 litres of freezer space
Whole Sheep or Goat (Every cut from a single sheep or goat)
Approximately 22kg – will need 50 litres of freezer space
Half Sheep or Goat Every cut from a half sheep or goat)
Approximately 10kg – will need 25 litres of freezer space
