Flashback to the unforgettable @grasslandpoultry long table dinner! The food was sensational, and I wanted to share the full menu so you can see the other amazing producers around the Mudgee region who were highlighted in this incredible evening 😊

@kimcurrie925 from @thezinhouse created a range of beak-to-tailfeather dishes that showcased every part of the bird, showing how important each season and age of the bird is in food diversity. 🍽️ @lowefamilywineco paired THE perfect wines 🍷.

And dessert: I’ll just say it – that retired hen egg crème brûlée was the bomb 🔥🍮 I’ll be chasing that recipe for sure!

Special. I love what I do, and I know my customers do too. Every year, I connect hundreds of people looking for better quality meat with small-scale farmers who are raising animals the right way—ethically, regeneratively, and with care.

If you’re looking for meat that’s real, from farms that prioritise animal welfare, sustainability, and transparency, then give us a go.

We don’t do flashy advertising. We don’t offer gimmicks, free seafood for a year, or subscription based boxes. What we do offer is exceptional meat and poultry, sourced from true small-scale ethical farms at a price that keeps those farms viable. Because cheap prices and subscriptions and free things don’t mean quality—they mean someone, somewhere, is losing out.

Good meat should cost what it takes to raise an animal properly—with space to roam, the right food, and a life that reflects nature’s intent. Nothing artificial. Nothing fake. Just real, honest food.

Hi!

I’m Shirley, the sole trader behind Hand Sourced—a business I built to change the way people source and consume meat. My mission is simple: eat better meat and less of it.

I work exclusively with small Australian farmers who breed, raise, and process animals on-farm, following ethical, chemical-free, and regenerative farming practices. These farmers don’t take shortcuts, and neither do I. Every product I supply is single origin, pasture-raised, and free from hormones, additives, and chemicals—just as nature intended.

My customers range from chefs, restaurants, and butchers to home cooks and food lovers who care about where their food comes from. They share my belief that quality matters—for our health, for the farmers, and for the animals.

Without support, many of these boutique farms wouldn’t survive. Hand Sourced exists to connect ethical producers with conscientious consumers, ensuring that small-scale, high-welfare farming remains a viable choice in Australia.
